So last fall I had an incomplete in a class, right? And this spring, I asked the professor about it, he gave me an assignment he wanted me to complete to restore my grade, and I did it, and had it submitted well ahead of the end of the semester. HOWEVER:
he never changed my grade, and my Incomplete lapsed to an F.
This fucks me because I was REALLY hoping that I'd be able to graduate after this last course this summer. Hopefully someone can get in touch with him, but I remember sending him an e-mail before the semester was over to remind him to change the grade, and he never responded. I assumed that, being a professor, he'd be astute enough to handle the rest on his own. Guess I was wrong.

I keep hoping I'll be able to make it work, and that each maintenance procedure will bring me one step closer to having my computer back to the way it was, just a few short weeks ago.
Why did I ever apply that system restore? What was I thinking?
It seemed like a good idea at the time, though. It always does. Now, after weeks of start menu hangs and random system-wide freezes seemingly originating from unrelated programs, I'm less sure.
I've explored every option. My MFT is larger now to compensate for more files being present. I've optimized my registry. Scanned for viruses(though, if that were the case, I'm almost certain I'd know; I'm entirely aware of every program my computer runs on a regular basis, if not always what it does). Scanned for every kind of malware known to man. I've even posted HijackThis! logs and kept an eye on my event log to see if any errors or suspicious behavior was resulting.
I think I'm going to have to reinstall Windows again. Please, PLEASE stay with me, Compy. Once my Art History final exam is done and uploaded, I'll make all the slowdown and mysterious hangs go away, I promise.
